The 31mm case is proportionally identical to the 36mm (same bezel width, same dial layout, same crown) — it is simply scaled down, which means it looks like a Datejust, not like a miniature watch.

The Datejust 31 and the Lady-Datejust 28 are Rolex's two women's Datejust platforms. The 31mm has the same dial layout as the men's Datejust (cyclops date at 3 o'clock, hour markers at all 12 positions). The 28mm has a simplified dial layout (fewer hour markers, smaller cyclops). The 31mm uses the caliber 2236 (55-hour power reserve); the 28mm uses the caliber 2236 as well but in a smaller format.
