Factory Diamonds on the Racing Chronograph

The diamond Daytona is Rolex at its most extravagant — factory-set diamonds on the bezel, dial, or both, applied to the brand's iconic chronograph platform. Every diamond on a factory Daytona is hand-selected by Rolex gemologists for IF-VVS clarity and D-F color, then set in a precious-metal mount using proprietary techniques. The result is a chronograph that functions identically to a standard Daytona but presents as a high-jewelry timepiece.

Factory diamond Daytonas are produced exclusively in precious metals — yellow gold, white gold, Everose, and platinum. Rolex does not offer factory diamond configurations on the steel Daytona. This exclusivity, combined with limited production runs, makes diamond Daytonas among the most collectible and liquid Rolex references on the secondary market.

Diamond Configuration Types

Diamond bezel — Baguette or brilliant-cut diamonds set into a custom bezel mount replacing the standard tachymeter. The most common diamond Daytona configuration. Available on 116589RBR (white gold) and 116588TBR (yellow gold) among others.

Diamond dial markers — Factory diamond hour markers on an otherwise standard dial. Adds sparkle without the full jewelry commitment of a diamond bezel. Found on select 116509 and 116508 configurations.

Pavé dial — Full diamond-paved dial surface with diamond subdials. The most extreme factory option. These are the rarest standard-production Daytonas and command the highest premiums.

Rainbow bezel — Multi-colored sapphire bezel (not strictly diamonds, but grouped in the diamond/gem category). The Daytona 116595RBOW in Everose is the most photographed Rolex of the past decade and commands six-figure premiums.
