The 116231 is the previous-generation 36mm Datejust in two-tone stainless steel and 18k Everose gold. It was the first Datejust to feature Rolex's patented Everose alloy — a rose gold stabilized with platinum that resists the fading conventional rose gold develops over time. The fluted Everose bezel, crown, and center bracelet links give the 116231 a warm pink-gold accent that sets it apart from the more common yellow-gold two-tone references.
The Cal. 3135 movement powers the 116231 — Rolex's proven workhorse with Parachrom hairspring and 48-hour power reserve. Available on both Jubilee and Oyster bracelets.
Popular Dial Configurations
Chocolate sunburst — Dark brown with rose gold applied markers. The most popular 116231 dial — the warm chocolate against Everose creates a seamless tonal harmony.
Pink sundust — A rose-toned pink with sunburst finish designed specifically for Everose references. Unique to Everose two-tone and not available on yellow-gold Datejusts.
Black — High contrast against the warm Everose accents. The sportiest 116231 configuration.
Diamond dial — Factory diamond-set markers on various base colors. The Everose warmth softens the diamond sparkle compared to yellow-gold two-tone.
