The Datejust II in Steel

The 116300 is the all-steel version of the Datejust II — Rolex's first 41mm Datejust, produced from 2009 to 2016. It features a smooth bezel in stainless steel (unlike the 116334, which pairs the steel case with a white gold fluted bezel), the Cal. 3136 movement with Paraflex shock absorbers, and the Oyster bracelet with Easylink 5mm comfort extension.

The 116300 was the entry point to the 41mm Datejust — all-steel, smooth bezel, no precious metal. It offered the modern 41mm size at the lowest price in the Datejust II range. When Rolex replaced the Datejust II with the current 126300 in 2017, the 116300 became a discontinued reference — and discontinued Rolex references tend to appreciate once supply stops.

Popular Dial Configurations

Blue sunburst — The most popular 116300 dial. The blue catches light dynamically against the steel case and smooth bezel. Trades at a slight premium over other dial colors.

White — Clean, high-contrast white dial with applied stick or Roman markers. The most legible configuration and the preferred choice for dress-oriented buyers.

Silver — Neutral silver sunburst. The most understated 116300 configuration — it blends with the steel case for a monochromatic look.

Black — Matte or sunburst black. The sportiest-looking 116300 dial, often paired with an Oyster bracelet for a tool-watch aesthetic.
